Open Enrollment for 2027 runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. This guide shows which insurers are leaving, which are staying, how much prices are going up, and what to do if your plan is ending.
Who’s leaving Florida’s Marketplace in 2027
| Company | What happens to your 2026 plan |
|---|---|
| Cigna | Cigna is leaving the Marketplace in all 11 states where it sold plans, including Florida. Plans end December 31, 2026. |
| Molina Healthcare of Florida | Molina is not on the state’s list of companies selling Marketplace plans for 2027. Its Marketplace members need a new plan. |
| Sunshine State Health Plan | Its plans end in 2026. Members who don’t choose are moved to Ambetter, which belongs to the same parent company (Centene). |
If you don’t choose a plan, the Marketplace may move you to a plan from another company. That plan may not include your doctors, hospitals or medicines. Compare before you accept it.
Who’s selling Marketplace plans in Florida for 2027
These are the 12 companies the state regulator lists as selling on the federal Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) for 2027. Not every company sells in every county.
| Company (brand) | Network type |
|---|---|
| AmeriHealth Caritas Florida (AmeriHealth Caritas Next) | HMO |
| AvMed | HMO |
| Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (Florida Blue) | EPO |
| Health Options (Florida Blue HMO) | HMO |
| Capital Health Plan | HMO |
| Centene Venture Company Florida (Ambetter) | HMO |
| Community Care Network (22 Health) | HMO |
| Florida Health Care Plans | HMO |
| Health First Commercial Plans | HMO |
| Oscar Health Maintenance Organization of Florida (Oscar) | HMO |
| Simply Healthcare Plans (Wellpoint) | HMO |
| UnitedHealthcare of Florida | HMO |
By county, companies on the Marketplace for 2027: Miami-Dade 8, Broward 9, Palm Beach 8, Orange 9, Hillsborough 8, Duval 6, Lee 6.
Almost every plan is an HMO or EPO: you need to use the plan’s network except in an emergency. Checking that your doctors and hospital are in the network matters more than ever.
How much prices go up in 2027
The state regulator reports an average increase of about 10.4% before financial help, weighted by how many people each company covers. Your own change can be higher or lower, depending on your company, plan, age and county.
The regulator’s example for a 28-year-old earning $36,000 a year in an average Silver plan:
| County | Monthly premium before help | Federal tax credit | You pay per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Miami-Dade | $776 | $395 | $381 |
| Broward | $723 | $411 | $312 |
That is an average Silver plan, not the cheapest. With the right plan, many people pay less. The regulator itself notes the figures are illustrative and that HealthCare.gov shows the actual amounts.
What protects you: if you qualify for the premium tax credit (income from 100% to 400% of the poverty level), the most you pay for the benchmark Silver plan is a set share of your income, from 2.15% to 10.22% in 2027, however much the price goes up. Above 400% there is no credit in 2027, so you pay the full increase. See how much ObamaCare costs in 2027 and run the 2027 calculator.
Immigration status: from January 1, 2027, the tax credit is limited to U.S. citizens and nationals, green card holders, Cuban and Haitian entrants and COFA migrants. Others who are lawfully present can still buy a plan, at full price. Details in 2027 changes by immigration status.
What to do before December 15
- Check who your 2026 plan is with. If it’s Cigna, Molina or Sunshine State Health Plan, you must choose a new plan.
- Don’t rely on automatic renewal, even if your company is staying. Prices, networks and drug lists change every year.
- Make a list of your doctors, hospital, pharmacy and medicines (name and dose).
- Update your 2027 income estimate and your household. That decides your tax credit.
- Compare premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, network and drug list, not just the monthly price.
- Choose by December 15 for coverage on January 1, then pay your first premium to the new company. See how to pay your first premium.
Frequently asked questions
Is Florida Blue still on the Marketplace in 2027?
Yes. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and Health Options (Florida Blue’s HMO) are both on the state’s 2027 list.
I had Molina. Will I be moved to another plan?
The Marketplace may place you in a plan from another company if you don’t choose one. It’s safer to choose yourself, so your doctors and medicines are covered.
When can I see the 2027 prices?
On HealthCare.gov when Open Enrollment opens on November 1. A licensed agent can help you compare them that day.
Is January 15 the final deadline?
For now, Open Enrollment ends January 15, 2027, but HHS has appealed the court decision that kept that date. December 15 is the safe date either way.
