Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, phone number, email, ZIP code, the type of insurance you're interested in, and your messages. When you ask us to help you get insurance, this may also include household members, dates of birth, income, current coverage, Social Security or immigration document numbers, vehicle and property details, and health-related information needed for an application.
- Information collected automatically: device and browser type, pages visited, referring website and similar technical data, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
- Information from others: insurance companies and the Health Insurance Marketplace may share information with us about your application or policy when we are your agent.
How we use information
- to respond to your requests and provide quotes;
- to help you apply for, enroll in, renew and service insurance policies, with your consent;
- to send reminders about deadlines, renewals, payments and documents;
- to operate, secure and improve our website and services;
- to meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping requirements.
Text messages (SMS)
Our forms include two optional text-message consent boxes: one for service messages about your request and your policies, and one for marketing messages. They are never pre-checked, and you can send a form without checking either one. If you check a box, we use your mobile number only to send the kind of messages you agreed to. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with insurance companies and the Health Insurance Marketplace when you ask us to get you a quote or help you apply or enroll;
- with service providers that help us run our business (for example, customer-relationship, email and phone systems), who must protect it and use it only for our services;
- when required by law, regulation, subpoena or to protect our rights and our clients' safety;
- as part of a merger or sale of our agency, subject to this policy.
All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Marketplace information
When we help you with a Marketplace application, we follow the privacy and security standards required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). We obtain your documented consent before assisting, use Marketplace information only for permitted purposes, and keep consent and application-review records for at least ten years as federal rules require.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar tools to understand how visitors use our site and to measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as intended.
How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, and we limit access to people who need it to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
- Opt out of texts by replying STOP, and out of marketing emails with the unsubscribe link.
- Ask us to access, correct or update your information by contacting us.
- Records we must keep by law may be retained even if you ask us to delete them.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Information about children in a household is collected only from a parent or guardian to provide insurance services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
